The Aiken Beekeepers have a number of items available to their members for use throughout the year.
If you are asked to speak at any type of an event or meeting on the subject of beekeeping we have audio- visual equipment that you may use. Currently we have a screen and a projector. To check out/use these items, please contact our club president Allen Johnson by email: firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are requested to do a presentation at a show, fair or special day we have the following available for use: a Teaching Hive, Observation Hive, Tent and Table. To check these out please contact Mark Wessel by email: email@example.com
Our club also owns for the use of all members an Extractor Kit which includes:
5 Gallon Bucket
Plastic Strainers (6)
Hot Uncapping Knife
We ask that all items that you use are returned in the condition in which they were found . Any lost or damaged items are your responsibility. You are not responsible for normal wear and tear.
To reserve the Extractor Kit please review the guidelines and if you agree with the conditions click on the link to reserve the system.
Use is restricted to active paid members of Aiken Beekeepers.
There is a $25.00 deposit which will be returned if items are returned clean. If not clean, fee goes towards having system cleaned.
Extractor system must be returned within 48 hours of check out.
It will be your responsibility to load and unload any items you check out.
You will be asked to sign out the equipment and verify what items you have taken.
Cleaning of the Extractor System
Empty all Honey
Rinse all items well with COLD water to remove all wax and debris.
Wash with hot soapy water
It is suggested you not take the extractor apart. If you desire, after washing you can pour some warm water and a little Clorox in it to disinfect, then rinse well.
